Fabrication Studio Will Triple Space in Move to Navy Yard

Bednark Studio will occupy 62,000 square feet at the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Green Manufacturing Center, tripling the size of its current facility in Bushwick. Crain’s New York Business reported that the move by Bednark, which manufactures and installs interiors for retail brands, will bring the recently-renovated Green Manufacturing Center to 100% occupancy.

For Bednark, design and fabrication business was up 20% last year, due largely to a focus on experiential retail projects. Founder Michael Bednark told Crain’s the Navy Yard was attractive because of the opportunity it offers to collaborate with other manufacturers on the 300-acre campus.

“We’ll have a lot of synergy with other tenants here,” he said.

Navy Yard President and CEO David Ehrenberg told Crain’s, “We looked at Bednark and saw a company that we think will continue to grow. This is exactly the kind of manufacturing tenant that the Navy Yard is seeking to support.”
