FAA permits UDR's Dallas highrise

FAA OKs Dallas Highrise Construction Plans

UDR passed muster with the Federal Aviation Administration over its highrise application in Dallas near Turtle Creek. The agency said the proposed 25-story multifamily building would not interfere with air navigation. The Dallas Business Journal reports projects surpassing 200 feet above ground level are required to file notice with the FAA.

Construction of the 308-foot tower could begin in June 2025 and last until December 2026. Dallas-based architecture firm HKS Inc. is listed as the project’s designer.

UDR still needs to go through the permit process with Dallas.

The company purchased the site for $90.2 million in 2022.

Just next door to UDR’s site, the Hanover Co. is building a 21-story story residential tower and has filed plans for a second building that could rise 20 stories. And about a block northwest, Validus Development Corp. plans to build a 30-story high-rise on a vacant corner lot north of Hood and Brown streets.
