FAA to Georgetown: Hold Off the Municipal Airport Master Plan

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has told the city of Georgetown, TX to put a hold on updating a proposed $59.6 million master plan for the Georgetown Municipal Airport. The FAA indicated it wanted to review the airport’s growth data, and provide comment.

Georgetown’s Transportation Advisory Board was set to consider accepting a draft version of the airport’s master plan update on Jan. 12, 2018. That item, however, was pulled off the agenda at the beginning of the meeting.

Coffman Associates, a Missouri-based consulting firm had released a recommended development plan and capital improvement program in November 2017. The plan lists 52 projects to be considered at the airport over the next two decades. They include lengthening the airport’s main runway by 500 feet on both ends.
