EY Takes Two Floors in Chelsea Lease Extension
In advance of relocating its headquarters to Brookfield’s Manhattan West complex, EY has taken two floors at Columbia Property Trust’s 218 W. 18th St. The accounting giant will occupy 27,000 square feet at the Chelsea office property for more than five years.
EY came into the property in 2016 as a subtenant of SY Partners. “We’re pleased that Ernst & Young has chosen to become a direct tenant at 218 W. 18th, with a commitment to stay in the building to 2026,” said David Dowdney, SVP and head of leasing for Columbia. “E&Y fits perfectly among the diverse mix of TAMI and financial tenants who have chosen 218 W. 18th for its highly-appealing Chelsea location and modern, boutique design.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s Charlie Stephens and Sam Clark represented EY. Columbia acquired 218 W. 18th and 245-249 W. 17th St. from New York REIT for $514 million last year.
