Experiential Retail’s Next Big Thing Is Here

If e-commerce is a hot topic, then virtual reality is on fire, and it may be the saving grace for the retail sector.

Samsung, for one, has already begun designing stores around their virtual reality technology. In New York, the flagship store, Samsung 837, has no products and is entirely focused on experience. With giant interactive screens, a theater, multimedia studio, and kitchen, the environment sells itself.

Depending on the retailer, VR has many applications. From a home goods store that allows customers to visualize their remodels, to sporting goods that lets shoppers test the gear in the “field,” experiential retail is headed towards a virtually infinite reality.
