EW Howell Completes Two Public School Projects
EW Howell Construction Group finished work in time for the 2017-2018 school year at P.S. 338 (pictured above), a five-story public school on Coney Island Ave. in Brooklyn. Designed by Purcell Architects, the 106,000-square-foot, $68.5-million project was built from the ground up to accommodate 742 students ranging from Pre-K to eighth grade.
Working for the New York’s School Construction Authority, EW Howell also finished a $31.5-million addition and renovation, for P.S. 49 (pictured below), a staple of the Middle Village, Queens community for generations. A design by Ciardullo Architects kept intact the building’s original historic 1920s brick and limestone façade detail.
