Evergreen Goodwill Sells Outlet Store Property for $25M

Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington announced an agreement to sell its Everett Outlet property to Community Transit for $25.35 million.

Goodwill’s bulk retail store and recycling center operations at the site, located at 2208 W. Casino Road, will continue under a three-year lease agreement with Community Transit. The 107,000-square-foot warehouse sits on a 7.5-acre lot. Evergreen Goodwill bought the property in 2011 for $10.9 million. The assessed value is $17.5 million, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

The nonprofit intends to use revenue from the sale to expand tuition-free education for adults and improve technology and infrastructure across the organization. The outlet store sells clothing by the pound at a discount and also operates as a warehouse, delivery, and fulfillment center for aftermarket vendors. Community Transit’s headquarters is located next to the Everett Goodwill outlet. The agency said the building will help address the need for additional vehicle storage and maintenance and operations capacity as the authority expands services over the next few years.
