Europe’s largest solar panel manufacturer, Elin Energy, is opening a manufacturing operation in Waller County, incentivized by an economic development package approved by the Waller County Commissioners Court. The Turkish-based company will be in the Twinwood Business Park, south of I-10 in southern Waller County, west of Houston.

Elin will move into the new advanced manufacturing facility in the first quarter of 2024 and employ about 100 people. By year seven, the company expects to have 450 employees. The company, which goes by Sirius PV in the states, will install new manufacturing equipment over the next ten years at an estimated cost of $35 million. The company says the plant will have the capacity to manufacture 2,000 megawatts annually.
