Essex Sells 8-Unit Mixed-Use for $3M
Chicago-based multifamily brokerage firm Essex Realty Group, Inc. recently facilitated the sale of 1651 W. Chicago Avenue, a mixed-use building located in the West Town/Ukrainian Village neighborhood. Built in 2007, the four-story property consists of eight units, two commercial spaces, and six luxury apartments.
The seller, a local investor, hired the brokerage team of Jim Darrow and Jordan Gottlieb to exclusively market the property for sale. Essex led an extensive marketing campaign, ultimately selling the property to a local investor in a 1031 Tax Deferred Exchange for $3.045 million. Essex principals Jim Darrow and Jordan Gottlieb represented both the seller and the buyer.
“1651 W. Chicago is a unique property. In addition to the many great features of the building, there was very attractive assumable financing which appealed to many interested investors,” said Essex principal Jim Darrow, who led the sales initiative.
