Delancey Street Associates has topped out 242 Broome, the first condominium building within Essex Crossing.

“We look forward to opening 242 Broome’s doors in early 2018,” said Charles Bendit, co-chief executive of Taconic Investment Partners. “Residents will soon have access to a modern residential experience that celebrates the liveliness and grit of the Lower East Side.”

The topping out of the 14-story, 55-unit luxury building represents a key milestone in the construction of the $1-billion Essex Crossing project that includes nine sites on six acres across the Seward Park Urban Renewal Area, an area that has been mostly vacant since 1967.
