ESRT Celebrates One Year Anniversary of the Empire Building Playbook
Empire State Realty Trust (ESRT) is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the release of the “Empire Building Playbook: A Guide to Low Carbon Retrofits,” created in partnership with NYSERDA, major NYC-based property owners, and the Clinton Global Initiative.
The playbook serves as a step-by-step guide for existing commercial buildings to reduce carbon emissions and achieve New York State’s goals. Since the release of the playbook, ESRT has completed net zero case studies for all nine skyscrapers in its portfolio, including the Empire State Building, which reduced its carbon emission by 54%. ESRT also reduced emissions by 43% in its entire portfolio.
