Entertainment Experience Eyeing San Antonio

Icon Experiences is bringing its observation wheel to San Antonio. The project is expected to be one of the many features of a multibillion-dollar sports and entertainment district called Project Marvel.

The development calls for multiple rides, including a roughly 200-foot-tall observation wheel, a plaza area, a miniature golf course and dining space.

Plans for the project, first revealed in spring 2024, included a site located immediately west of Interstate 37 near the Shops at Rivercenter and a 200-foot-tall observation wheel called Grandisimo.

The district, which has a price tag of over $3 billion, has been proposed to revamp the Hemisfair portion of downtown. It would include a new San Antonio Spurs arena, expanding the convention center, upgrading the Alamodome and adding several entertainment venues.
