Entergy Breaks Ground on $869M Power Station
Entergy Corp. launched construction on its new 980-megawatt power station in St. Charles Parish, LA. Entergy Louisiana is making an $869 million capital investment in the power station, which will help reduce fuel costs for Entergy Louisiana customers. The project is anticipated to generate 700 construction jobs onsite, and to support 3,400 indirect jobs in the state.
The power plant will be one of the cleanest operated by the company, with carbon dioxide emissions 40% lower than those from current, gas-fired plants.
CB&I is the general contractor, procurement and engineer for the project. The commercial operations for the plant are expected to launch in June 2019.
