Entegris to Break Ground on $600M Colorado Springs Plant
It’s been the buzz for quite a while in Colorado. For months, impatient Coloradans have been anticipating the start of work for the 100,000 square foot Entegris plant in Colorado Springs. And now, they can exhale. The company recently broke ground on the $600 million plant, which is expected to create 600 jobs. It’s expected to begin commercial operation in early 2025.
The project will support the company’s Microcontamination Control and Advanced Materials Handling division. Entegris says better contamination control can significantly improve yield, and a one percent yield improvement can mean up to $150 million per year in net profit.
The Weitz Company’s will be the design/build contractor. The global semi contractor business exceeds $500 billion. Entregris employs 9,000 people in 13 countries.
