Ensign Continues Expanding S.A. Footprint with Healthcare Center at Patriot Heights

The Ensign Group made further inroads into San Antonio, acquiring the Healthcare Center at Patriot Heights. Thanks to the deal it made with seller Brookdale Senior Living, the San Juan Capistrano, CA buyer expanded its portfolio by 217 beds.

Located at 5000 Fawn Meadows, Healthcare at Patriot Heights offers 59 skilled nursing beds and 158 independent living units, which opened in the mid-1980s. According to Barry Port, Ensign’s CEO, the campus on the metro’s northwest side is a good geographic fit with sister operations in the area.

During November 2019, Ensign Group acquired three San Antonio-area nursing facilities from Granite Investment Group. Ensign is actively seeking to acquire real estate and to lease both well-performing and struggling skilled nursing, assisted living and other healthcare-related businesses throughout the United States.
