Engineering Firm Relocates to “Less Crowded” North Side

KDM Engineering will relocate its headquarters from downtown to the North Side’s Salt District, where it will anchor 1308 N. Elston. A joint venture between Farpoint Development and Greco/DeRosa Investment Group, the project is a redevelopment of a former light fixture factory, offering 71,000 square feet of newly renovated office space.

Baum Realty Group’s Ari Topper and Tyler Dechter represented KDM in the 35,000-square-foot lease. The tenant will relocate from 35 E. Wacker Dr. when the lease commences next spring.

“1308 gives us a chance to expand our physical footprint in a smaller, less crowded area of the city,” said KDM founder and president Kimberly Moore.

Topper said, “This lease is a testament to the attractive environment Farpoint has created at the property. The design and aesthetics of the building are incredibly appealing to today’s office users and its characteristics resonate even more so in the age of COVID.”
