Empire State Building Unveils New Observatory Entrance

Empire State Realty Trust, owner of the “World’s Most Famous Building,” has unveiled a new entrance on 34th Street to the Empire State Building’s Observatory. It’s the first phase of a redevelopment project intended to improve the experience, both for the estimated 4.2 million annual visitors to the observatory, and for the iconic property’s office tenants.

The observatory redevelopment is part of the ESB’s decade-long Empire State ReBuilding project. “We have already transformed the Empire State Building into the Urban Campus within a building, one of the most modern and energy-efficient buildings in the world,” said Anthony Malkin, chairman and CEO of ESRT. “Now, ESB raises the bar for the guest experience to make it best-in-class.”

The new entrance will be followed in the coming months by additional enhancements. “We have a high level of confidence that our work will increase customer satisfaction immensely, and drive bottom-line performance,” said Malkin.
