Empire Affiliate to Build 25-Story Phoenix Mixed-Use Project
Aspirant Development, a sister company of Empire Group of Cos., has been preparing to turn a vacant infill property (see photo) at the northern edge of downtown into a mixed-use project with another residential high-rise. To be built at 1500 N. Central Ave., The Phoenix Business Journal reports the project is slated for a 25-story multifamily tower and a 2,500-square-foot art gallery along Central Avenue and two additional restaurant and retail buildings along McDowell Road.
The new residential building will feature 320 units with a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartment options as well as 3,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space ideally suited for restaurants at the corner of the property. The separate, additional restaurant and retail space will total about 17,000 square feet, Jacobs said.
Aspirant Development expects to start construction by Q4 2024 and for the project to deliver about two years after construction commences. Gensler will design the project.
