BioMed Realty recently received approval from the city to expand its flagship Emeryville Center of Innovation campus. Plans for the 12-acre campus include 910,000 square feet of class-A lab and office space, with the initial 265,000-square-foot phase scheduled to break ground in 2022.

Previously, this location served as the headquarters to life science companies conducting research that led directly to two Nobel Prize Awards: one in chemistry and one in medicine.
