EmeryStation West Breaks Ground in East Bay
San Rafael, CA-based Wareham Development commenced construction on EmeryStation West, a nine-story, 260,000-square-foot office and R&D development in Emeryville, CA. The more than $100-million speculative project is located within a two-million-square-foot research and tech campus, and was approved six years ago.
The project, one of the only new CRE buildings to begin in the East Bay in this current economic cycle, will target life sciences occupiers. Wareham Development sees significant demand in the research sector.
EmeryStation West includes seven levels of laboratory, medical and office space above a two-story transit and parking podium. Construction is slated to take about 18 months, and EmeryStation West is expected to open by the end of next year.
Kidder Mathews’ Timothy Mason, James Bennett and Eric Bluestein are handling leasing.
