Embarcadero Residential Tower Approved

An Embarcadero residential tower, called 75 Howard, gained approval from the San Francisco Planning Commission.

The developer is the New York City-based Paramount Group, and 75 Howard will total 220 feet in height with 130 luxury units. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is the main architecture firm on the project.

75 Howard has had opposition from some residents, who say its height will blight the neighborhood due to its height and the possible view-blocking of Rincon Park. However, there were several housing organizations that said the new housing is needed in the area.
