El Paso Ready for Small-Format Cabela’s

Cabela’s, an outdoor sporting goods chain known for its huge, tourist-destination stores, is changing it up a little for a new location in El Paso. Specifically, the company will open a small-format store, totaling 50,000 square feet, at the $100 million West Towne Marketplace in West El Paso. The store, at Interstate 10 and Paseo del Norte, is slated for a Sept. 14, 2017 opening.

Cabela’s is the first of many retailers to open at the 500,000-square-foot West Towne Marketplace. PetSmart is scheduled to open in late September, with T.J. Maxx/HomeGoods to follow in early October. The Cabela’s is one of three major anchors in West Towne. A Walmart Supercenter and movie theater are the other two.

River Oaks Properties of El Paso is the retail center’s developer.
