El Paso Ready for First Whole Foods Market
El Paso, TX’s first Whole Foods Market is scheduled to open Oct. 19. The 50,000-square-foot store at 100 Pitt St. will employ 160 people. Included on the roster will be store manager Mark Heins, who spent three decades running El Paso’s Greenery Restaurant.
Though part of a chain, the retail store will be distinctly El Paso, selling products produced in and around the area. It will also offer features not found at other locations, such as the Thunderbird Taproom, offering wines and 24 beers on tap. Also on hand will be a taqueria operated by Isabella Foods, based in El Paso.
The location will also be the first to have a Grillworks. Grillworks is a wood-fired grill that charbroils meats that are used in prepared foods sold at the store.
