Eight West Breaks Ground on New Haven Luxury Rentals

Eight West, an affiliate of The Hakimian Organization, recently broke ground at 19 Elm St., which will be a seven-story, 96-unit luxury rental development with ground-level retail in New Haven, CT.

“This site has a rich history, and we’re excited to breathe new life into the area with this beautiful development,” said Eight West partner Rex Hakimian. “New Haven’s charm and architectural significance have always drawn me to this city, and I believe this project will contribute to the city’s continued growth. Our commitment to quality and thoughtful design is central to our vision, and we’re looking forward to what we hope is the first of many projects here.”

Once home to Harold’s Bridal Shop, the site remained vacant for several years. In August 2022, Eight West acquired the property and initiated a $40-million project. Demolition of the old building was completed in early 2023 and the project completion is expected for early 2026.
