EEDC: Edinburg Construction Tops $271M in 2017

Total construction activities in Edinburg, TX topped $271 million in 2017, compared with more than $209 million from the year before, according to data from the Edinburg Economic Development Corp. (EEDC). During the year, 496 permits for new single-family residences were issued (compared to 478 in 2016), while permits for 938 multifamily units were issued at the same time.

In December 2017, new construction of homes and multifamily led the way, with building permits for investments valued at more than $4 million and more than $2 million, respectively. Total construction activities in the region during December were just slightly over $8 million.
