Edinburg Generates Jobs in September

Edinburg and McAllen, TX were the only two cities in the Rio Grande Valley that posted unemployment rates less than 5.6% in September 2016, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. At the same time, the TWC reported an increase of close to 1,000 jobs for Edinburg from September 2015-September 2016.

Edinburg’s unemployment rate was 5.5% during September. McAllen’s rate came in at 5.2%. The state of Texas’ unemployment was 4.9%.
