EdgeConneX Building Second Phoenix-Area Datacenter
EdgeConneX already has a location in Tempe and is now looking at Mesa for its next large datacenter. The building would start off with a 180,000 square foot data hall, 50,000 for office space. A second phase would add another 180,000 square feet. The third phase calls for a 300,000-square-foot building and the fourth phase, 400,000 square feet; a million square feet if the company completes all of its phases. The company currently owns eight parcels at Loop 202 and Elliot Road.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports those data centers would be “designed for a range of clients from colocation to single-client tenants.”
Cushman & Wakefield recently reported that Phoenix was one of six key markets that accounted for 72% of total data center development in 2022 across the U.S. The other markets include Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, northern Virginia and Silicon Valley.
