EAH Housing Debuts New Affordable Senior Housing Community
Nonprofit developer EAH Housing has unveiled Magnolia Villas, a 40-unit affordable housing community for low-income seniors in Santa Monica, CA. Mayor Sue Himmelrich recently joined residents of the building to celebrate its grand opening.
“Close to 10,000 Santa Monica households are rent-burdened, which is roughly one-fifth of all existing households,” said Himmelrich. “Real estate developments like Magnolia Villas are great examples of city government-financed initiatives that help make our City more inclusive, where community members can age-in-place.”
Magnolia Villas is a four-story, 27,000-square-foot building, located near Kaiser Permanente, UCLA Medical Center, pharmacies and bus stops. The community is comprised of 39 one-bedroom units, an on-site staff unit and a large courtyard with a community garden.
“We’re proud to have the opportunity to help address the escalating affordability crisis and continue to build solutions in the City of Santa Monica,” said EAH Housing CEO Laura Hall.
