E-Z Mart to Sell 273 Stores to GPM Investments

E-Z Mart Stores Inc., headquartered in Texarkana, TX, entered into an agreement with GPM Investments to sell 273 of its convenience stores throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. The sale is expected to close in Q2 2018 for an undisclosed price.

As part of the transaction, the Richmond, VA-based GPM team will operate the Store Support and Maintenance Headquarters at 602 Falvey Ave., which employs more than 130 people. GPM is also planning to extend offers of employment to all E-Z Mart employees.

The E-Z Mart chain was launched by Jim and FaEllen Yates in 1970; as of now, the business operates nearly 300 convenience stores. The Yates family plans to establish the Yates Group, which will manage retained real estate, leased locations, and leasehold services for some of the GPM-acquired stores.
