Durham’s Brightleaf Square MXU Portfolio Trades for $39M

Avison Young has brokered the $39 million sale of Brightleaf Square, a mixed-use portfolio consisting of nearly 140,000 square feet of historic converted tobacco warehouse space on five acres in downtown Durham.

Located at 905 West Main St., Brightleaf Square features a mix of restaurants, shops and office space located within two renovated, historic tobacco warehouses. The property is currently 85% occupied by a tenant roster that includes Duke Health, Duke University Press and Clouds Brewing. Also included in the sale were parking lots and several buildings located along West Main and North Duke Street.

John Linderman, Grant Linderman and Blake Thomas, of Avison Young’s North Carolina Investment Sales Team based in Raleigh, represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction. Josh Beaver of The Nichols Co. represented the buyer, an entity affiliated with Asana Partners.
