Durango Residences Planned near Hemisfair

Laney Development of Wimberly, TX, announced its intent to build Durango Residences, a 70-unit, high-end apartment complex near downtown San Antonio’s Hemisfair development. The developer is planning to build the tower at Presa Street and Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard, and it will include two townhomes, three live-work spaces and retail.

Laney Development is under contract to acquire the half-acre site of the complex, which is currently used as a parking lot. Fredericksburg Suites Inc. is the seller. The next steps are to obtain financing for the project, as well as approval from the city’s Historic and Design Review Commission.

Durango Residences would be the developer’s first project in San Antonio. The company, which has primarily developed in the northeast, is planning to move its operations into the San Antonio city limits.
