Duke Completes First Industrial Smart Building in SoCal
Duke Realty Corporation has delivered the industry’s first Smart Building, allowing tenants to incorporate intelligent and sustainable features in the development design process. The new 530,000-square-foot building located at 13131 Los Angeles Street in Irwindale, CA features a building automation system, smart metering system, solar panels and high-efficiency air conditioning.
“We have been an industry leader in sustainable building practices and our pledge to achieving carbon neutrality,” said Duke Realty’s vice president of Corporate Responsibility Megan Basore. “This first of its kind facility proves our commitment and allows us to work closely with our customers to limit our impact on the communities we serve.”
Other features in the Smart Building include dock sensing devices to better manage dock operations, LED lighting monitoring systems, efficient warehouse insulation and air flow solutions and employee-focused amenities such as food trucks and a garden to provide healthy and safe work environments.
