One of many mall conversion projects in Phoenix opened its first hotel venture. A dual-branded Tru Hotel and Home2 Suites are accepting guests at the former Park Central. In what will become a massive mixed-use project, the hotels will have 207 units in total.

Plaza Companies, Holualoa Companies and Fayth Hospitality Group developed the five-story hotel site. It is located in the renovated Park Central mall and very close to the Creighton University Health Sciences Campus, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow’s Neurological Institute, making it a new addition to the Phoenix Medical Quarter.

The hotel offers a complimentary full breakfast buffet, Spin2Cycle fitness center, laundry center, rooftop swimming pool, outdoor fire pit and grills, pool table and games in the lobby. It also has flexible meeting space.

Layton Construction constructed the hotel project. The city of Phoenix, Grand Canyon University and South Mountain Community College created a program to give students hands-on experience at the Park Central Hotels job site.
