Driver SPG Launches Work on EV Charging Center in Santa Ana

In what will be the first new full-service electric vehicle (EV) charging center built for Rove, Driver SPG, a unit of C.W. Driver Companies, has begun construction in Orange County. Upon completion, expected for the summer of 2024, the 1.2-acre Santa Ana center will be able to charge 40 vehicles simultaneously via high-powered direct-current fast chargers with some capable of reaching speeds up to 350 kW, and offer customers enhanced amenities beyond the gas stations of yesteryear.

Rove has plans for six EV charging centers in Southern California, which includes the inaugural location in Santa Ana along with Corona, Costa Mesa, Long Beach, Torrance and Rancho Cucamonga. The electric vehicle charging company, based in Costa Mesa, ultimately aims to open 20 locations by 2026.

“Our experience lends itself perfectly to building these novel EV charging centers as they require a high level of technical knowledge as well as the fine details of a hospitality and customer-facing project,” said Karl Kreutziger, president at Driver SPG. “We are excited to have such forward-thinking partners as Rove who are embracing future technologies.”
