Drew Brees’ Second Job: Selling Donuts
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and partner Vik Patel of Bourbon Street Donuts LLC struck an agreement with Dunkin’ Donuts to open up to 69 new restaurants in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Monroe and Alexandria, LA. Joining Brees and Patel in the Bourbon Street partnership will be former New York Giants offensive lineman and current FOX Sports Broadcaster David Diehl.
Patel is CEO of Purple Square Management Co., and has been a Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee for 10 years. Purple Square currently operates 46 restaurants throughout the southeast.
The first location under the new partnership will open this year, and the group will also co-own five existing Dunkin’ Donuts stores in Louisiana. A dozen Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants are located throughout Louisiana, and the Dunkin’ company is seeking out additional franchisees in Arkansas, East Texas and Mississippi.
