Downtown Fort Lauderdale’s FATCity 1.35M-SF MXU Site Sold
An affiliate of Aventura-based BH3 acquired the 2.8-acre, mixed-use development site known as FATCity in downtown Fort Lauderdale from an entity controlled by New York-based Traina Companies for more than $23.1 million. Traina will retain strategic development participation as co-developers, having assembled multiple parcels and obtained city approvals in 2017. Traina was represented by Avison Young.
The transit-oriented site is entitled for roughly 1.35 million square feet, encompassing 612 residential units, 85,000 square feet of retail space, 270,000 square feet of commercial office or hospitality, and more than 1,300 parking spaces.
Fronting an entire city block at 300 N. Andrews Ave., the property is the epicenter of downtown Fort Lauderdale that connects the CBD and the Arts District. FAT is an acronym for Florida Arts and Technology.
