Downtown Disney to Undergo $5M Renovation

Downtown Disney to Undergo $5M Renovation

Disneyland has filed construction permits with the Anaheim Planning and Building Department for a new 8,300-square-foot retail building on the west end of Downtown Disney. The Orange County Register reports the $5.4 million project will reimagine the outdoor shopping mall with a new midcentury modern design.

The plans indicate the building will have room for five shops and include a new bathroom and employee break room. An outdoor event space with a 1,250-square-foot stage, shade structure and lighting are also in the plans, replacing the former AMC Theaters that formerly occupied the property.

The addition of Din Tai Fung soup dumplings and Porto’s Bakery and Cafe will be part of the renovation, which will also include a refresh of the Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, Catal and Uva Bar restaurants already in place at Downtown Disney.
