Founded in 1981, the Roses & Lemon Awards recognize excellence across development, adaptive reuse, dining, retail, arts and culture, and workplace innovation. The program also presents a single “Lemon” award, highlighting a project, policy, or cultural issue that has hindered DTLA’s growth. This year’s lemon Award recipient was Pershing Square for its price tag, which remains unknown but is somewhere between $25 million and $40 million.
In addition to the awards presentation, the program featured a special In Memoriam tribute honoring renowned architect Frank Gehry, whose contributions to DTLA’s skyline and cultural identity remain profound.
