Downtown Alliance Launches Small Business Initiatives

The Alliance for Downtown New York has launched a pair of initiatives intended to help local businesses that are being adversely impacted by the effects of COVID-19.

In one, the Downtown Alliance partnered with BentoBox to launch the Restaurant Online Ordering Sponsorship Program.  BentoBox will provide eligible restaurants their own delivery and takeout platforms in an effort to help make those services more profitable.

The program will offer access to a plug-and-play e-commerce experience that can be personalized for each business and will cover one year of services.

In the other, the alliance launched an initiative with retail and urban-design consultancy Streetsense to provide up to 25 small businesses in Lower Manhattan with the opportunity for one-on-one technical assistance to help them be COVID-ready and -compliant. The goal of these consultations is to assess operations and surface opportunities to better prepare businesses for the ongoing crisis.
