Doraville City Center Construction to Kick Off This Summer
Plans for a walkable, vibrant downtown have been on Doraville civic leaders’ minds for over 20 years. And soon, some dirt may move. Master developer Kaufman Capital Partners, along with architect McMillan Pazdan Smith and contractor Choate Construction, will soon begin demolition of some old city buildings to make way for a new municipal space, restaurant pads, multifamily communities and retail.
Doraville City Manager Chris Eldridge added, “We’re creating a downtown that will transform the city’s core into a thriving, welcoming, and enduring destination.” Doraville is a town of 10,000 NE of Atlanta.
This summer, city staff will vacate their current offices and move into a nearby mixed-use development. The offices will be torn down and will be replaced as part of phase I. Phase II will include the rental communities, retail and restaurants. The 13-acre project will keep things moving in the town for at least a few years.
