Dominium Adding 3rd SE Austin Apartment Complex
Dominium is proposing to develop The Sage at Franklin Park, a 298-unit rental community in Southeast Austin (photo) along Pleasant Valley Road. The project will be located next to Franklin Park and Woodway Village, two other Dominium owned apartment communities. The 22.1-acre property is undeveloped and is located at 4605 S Pleasant Valley Road.
The project will consist of 10 apartment buildings, a clubhouse with pool, open space, rain gardens and a playground. Dominium has already applied for a $50 million bond from the Austin Housing Finance Corporation.
Domiinium builds standard apartment communities as well as senior communities. The company manages more than 38,000 units in 19 states. The company says it expects to become the country’s pre-eminent developer, owner, and property manager of high-quality, affordable housing.
20 minutes from downtown, Southeast Austin is a popular location for families and young professionals due to its affordability, proximity to downtown Austin, and multiple outdoor recreational parks such as McKinney Falls State Park and Onion Creek Metropolitan Park.
