Dollar General Breaks Ground on 1M-SF Distribution Center

Construction has begun on a Dollar General distribution center in Longview, TX’s North Business Park. The Tennessee-headquartered company is spending more than $80 million to build the 110-acre campus at George Richey and McCann Roads.

Dollar General’s plan is to open the center by spring 2019, having hired at least 100 full-time workers. The company agreed to increase employment annually to reach 400 mostly local workers by 2022. Warehouse payroll could reach $62 million, with salaries ranging from $30,000-$40,000.

As part of the agreement, the city of Longview waived $167,000 in permit fees and zoning requirements. The Longview Economic Development Corp. loaned the company $7.5 million, which includes the value of the North Business Park’s property.
