Dollar General Announces Distribution Center, 400 Jobs

Discount retailer Dollar General unveiled plans to build a one-million-square-foot distribution center in Longview, TX. The development is estimated to go north at a $70 million cost in the 704-acre North Business Park, and will generate approximately 400 new jobs at full capacity. Upon its completion, the center will serve approximately 1,000 Dollar General retail locations in Texas and the southeast. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2018.

The new center, which will be near U.S. 259, approximately 5.5 miles north of U.S. 80 and 10 miles north of Interstate 20, is Dollar General’s second in Texas. The company opened a San Antonio distribution center in 2016.

Clayco is the project’s general contractor, and Leo A. Daly is the architectural engineering group. Elan Design is handling civil engineering tasks.
