Dollar General (And Its Competitors) Keep Expanding

Dollar General just opened a new store in Hemet. It’s the second store to hit the town. The first store in the chain made its debut in 2013 here. The new one is on 25720 Fairview Ave., while the first is located at 205 E. Stetson Ave.

Dollar General, and other chains like it, are obviously not slowing down their expansion rates by a whole lot. Nationally, Dollar General is opening 730 new stores this year on top of the nearly 12 THOUSAND stores it already has open. And other dollar stores are still rapidly expanding as well.

Is the expansion of Dollar Stores an indicator for the economy at all? Does it mean the recession is not quite over at all?
