DOHMH Inks New Office Lease in BK

The NYC Department of Health and Hygiene secured a 17,708 square feet office lease at Brooklyn’s newly developed The Paxton through CBRE’s arrangement. Relocating from 16 Court Street, the agency will occupy the entire fifth floor. The property’s average asking rent is $55 per square foot.

The CBRE team, led by Brad Gerla and supported by Jon Cope and David Katz, represented the ownership, Jenel Management Corp., while Ellen Israel (JRT Realty Group) and Bob Giglio (C&W) acted on behalf of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

“The City agency required new space for its growing department and the newly built property in the heart of Brooklyn was ideal for its needs,” said Gerla. “ We have had a lot of recent success in leasing 56,0000 rsf to the GSA, and only have three floors left at the top of the stack with two private terraces.”
