Doe Fund Receives TCO for Wakefield Veterans Housing

The Doe Fund recently received a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the Muller Residences, its latest affordable and supportive housing development. Located at the site of a former Army Reserve center that once manufactured torpedo gyroscopes, the four-story, 51,000-square-foot facility in the Bronx’s Wakefield neighborhood will now provide 90 units of affordable and supportive housing, with 54 targeted to formerly homeless military veterans.

The remaining 35 affordable units will be rented to low-income individuals, with one unit set aside for a live-in superintendent.

The site was acquired by The Doe Fund in September 2013 from the federal government through its Base Realignment and Closure program. Since that time, The Doe Fund has worked closely with Wakefield residents to create a redevelopment plan that responded to local community needs.

The affordable housing developer received its TCO on another Bronx project, 1325 Jerome Ave., earlier this summer.
