Doe Fund Brings Affordable/Supportive Housing to Bronx’s Mount Eden
The Doe Fund plans to develop a 15-story building containing 255 units of affordable and supportive housing in the Bronx’s Mount Eden neighborhood. A ground-breaking date will be announced in the near future, and construction is expected to take 24 months.
A portion of the project’s units will be dedicated to those with supportive services needs through an Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative award from the state. The remaining units are reserved for low-income families earning between 37% and 57% of the area median income. The development will also include 26,000 square feet of retail.
“We are so grateful to have the support of the community, and our development and construction partners, and our financing partners in this bright new endeavor in the Bronx,” said the Doe Fund’s founder and president, George T. McDonald. “Raymond James Tax Credit Funds, in particular, has enabled this project to swiftly come to fruition.”
