DirecTV Unloads Denver-Area Assets for $55.2M
DirecTV has sold two of its Colorado properties for a combined $55.2 million. However, the company has signed long term leases to maintain a presence at both.
The El Segundo, California-based TV provider sold its 161-acre campus southeast of Castle Rock, as well as a building northeast of Interstate 25 and E-470. The new owners of both properties are LLCs associated with New York-based Fortress Investment Group, a global investment firm with $44.4 billion in managed assets.
DirecTV has used the facility as its main satellite signal facility in the mainland United States since 1992. Following DirecTV’s 2015 merger with AT&T, the Denver Business Journal reported that approximately 200 DirecTV employees worked at the site in 2016.
The campus location sent TV signals from 197 local U.S. cities to satellites in space.
