Dine Out or Stay In? Where People Eat on Thanksgiving
Many Americans spend a lot of time and money on cooking a Thanksgiving feast for their loved ones. For others, they’d rather choose to let restaurants do the work.
According to a survey by the National Restaurant Association, 9% of consumers will dine out this year on turkey day. In 2011, only 6% shared that choice. For those who are cooking in their homes, 6% said that they will pick up parts of the meal, whereas 4% will purchase the whole meal.
The consumers who plan to dine out broke down like this: 31% go to where they regularly go on the holiday, 30% go to a restaurant that they eat at on special occasions, and 21% go to somewhere they are considered regulars.
