Dick’s Sporting Goods Broadening S.A. Presence, Planning 60K SF

Dick’s Sporting Goods is widening its San Antonio presence with plans to develop a 60,000-square-foot store at San Pedro Crossing, near North Star Mall. The sporting goods and clothing store will set up shop in space previously occupied by Toys R Us and Babies R Us. Dick’s other San Antonio locations are at The Rim, Alamo Ranch and South Park Mall.

Papers filed with the state of Texas show that the new store will require approximately $2.4 million in modifications or improvements. Eddie Kopplow with the Retail Connection told the San Antonio Business Journal that Dick’s is taking responsibility for the buildout, and is scheduled to open in fall 2020.

AR Global (formerly American Realty Capital) owns the 212,333-square-foot San Pedro Crossing, at 303-333 N.W. Loop 410, on San Antonio’s north side.
